The Gabor Function Widths

This is taken from Table 2.1 on page 49 of Visual Pattern Analyzers by Norma Van Surdam Graham.

W : full width at half height
Q : equivalent bandwidth or the area under a function divided by the function's maximum height
S : (sigma) a standard deviation
a : space or time constant

Note: A Gaussian specified with a sigma (S or standard deviation) typically has an 2*S*S in the denominator of the exponent while a Gaussian specified with a time constant,a, typically has a a*a in the denominator of the exponent.
