The Gamma Distribution Function
k k k-1 u
(---) X e
f(X) = ------------------
k - the order of the gamma distribution
An example plot:
- k = 1 -> f(x) = exponential distribution
- k = inf -> f(x) = distribution of no variance
- k = integer -> "f(x) is the distribution that results from creating a spike train of rate k/u with a Poisson process and then deleting all but every kth spike."
