Shortly after the ceremony (and the requisite pictures), everyone travelled down the block to the Ritz-Carlton, Huntington Hotel for the wedding reception.
Despite a very mixed crowd consisting of our friends from
Caltech,
UCLA, and
UPenn; plus family and friends of the
family, the food was delicious, the music was hot, and a good time was
had by all. We danced, we danced, and then we danced some more. The
band simply could do no wrong. Well, except maybe for that one dance
where everyone abandoned me and I was left dancing with my
mother. Actually, it wasn't all that bad since my mother managed to
do an excellent job of following my tenuous and erratic lead.
We even had a civil, if not charming, cake cutting:
The bridal bouquet was caught by Samantha's bridesmaid,
Yasie Sanai; her boyfriend was unavailable for comment...
The reception quietly wound down, but not after a last-minute conga line
started by my brothers, Kennie and Vincent. Unfortunately, we were
out in the garden shooting more pictures, so you don't get to see a
picture of Samantha and me in a conga line.
