Postdoctoral positions available

  • Postdoctoral position to study the flow of information through the retinal circuit. Techniques include 2-photon imaging of retinal ganglion cells and photolysis of transmitter substances to study the integrative properties of the dendritic arbor. Position is for at least 2 years, with salary according to NIH guidelines (first year after degree: $36,996). For more info, see Michael Freed's Homepage

  • Postdoctoral or research assistant with responsibility for managing a laser scannning confocal/2-photon microscope, which includes maintaining it, improving its design, and helping others use it. This position also allows for independent studies of retinal circuitry, including optical recording of calcium signals in retinal neurons by the 2-photon method.
